In February 2020 Jackson and Aidan (the original Porter Bros) were laid off from their restaurant jobs amid the pandemic, but they turned misfortune into opportunity. The two brothers took their new-found time and first two Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) payments, and built a business, Porter Bros Window Cleaning, starting off as a window and gutter cleaning service. What originally started as a quick way to make some money while being laid off turned into something much more. As the business began to grow, the brothers began to offer new services, including pressure washing and softwashing. Nowadays, Tommy Porter (the younger bro) has joined the team full time as a crew lead and continues to help grow the business along with his older brother, Aidan.
